When you register a death, the registrar will explain the Tell Us Once service which will imform the relevant local authorities and government. They will either:

• complete the Tell Us Once service with you
• give you a unique reference number so you can use the service yourself online or by phone.

 

There are however, often many other businesses to inform when a death occurs, for example, banks, telephone companies, energy providers, insurance and pension companies. Simply register a free account at www.lifeledger.com and they will assist you in contacting all these companies from one point, meaning that you won't have to make multiple upsetting and repetitive phone calls to inform them of a loved one's death.
